Shelley Campbell is dedicated to reducing health inequities and creating an effective health system through the development of community and primary healthcare services.

Shelley began her career as a social worker and transitioned into leadership due to her passion for the health sector and improving health services.

Shelley is the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Wise Group, one of the largest providers of mental health and wellbeing services in New Zealand. They develop health and wellbeing services through education and training, workforce development and research, information services and software development, employment and navigation services, and business support services.

Previously, Shelley held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Waikato Cancer Society and the Sir Peter Blake Trust, where she focused on leadership development and environmental programmes throughout New Zealand. She has also served as the CEO of Waikato Primary Health, introducing a primary healthcare strategy in Waikato and initiatives adopted nationwide across Aotearoa.

Shelley is also an advocate in the disability sector. She is a life trustee of the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation and is Deputy Chair of Te Pou, a national centre of development for mental health, addiction, and disability. Additionally, she is a member of Be Accessible’s Fab 50 network, which aims to create opportunities for people with disabilities.

In 2015, Shelley was appointed an Honorary Captain of the Royal New Zealand Navy, and in 2016, she became a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to health and people with disabilities. She was the Co-Chair of Te Aho o Te Kahu Cancer Control Agency and a member of the Health and Disability Review led by Heather Simpson.
