About Us

Kāore te kūmara e kōrero mō tōna ake reka - The kūmara does not say how sweet he is.

Under the auspice of this whakataukī our Māori leaders have been recognised by their peers and loved ones for their contributions, service, vision, dedication and expertise towards constructive change and improvement to Māori health. We invite you to journey through the words of support that have been prepared for each of the leaders to showcase the width and breadth of Māori leaders of today who influence and contribute to Māori health and wellbeing.

Be inspired. Aspire.

Ki a koutou katoa ngā ngākau aroha, ngā raukura, kia ū ki tēnei kaupapa o te hauora Māori, tēnei te mihi ki a koutou!

100 Māori Leaders is part of the Henry Rongomau Bennett Foundation, Leadership strategy.

This resource identifies Māori leaders of today who influence and contribute to Māori health and wellbeing. It identifies Māori at the top of health career pathways, to inspire the Māori health workforce and generate interest from others to look at careers in health. Māori and other leaders were approached to write kōrero awhi (kind words) about the leadership qualities of living Māori leader.

100 Maori leaders resource will link to other information about our leaders and about education, training and roles in health and wellbeing. New profiles will be added and older ones archived.

Profiles are undated and refreshed often. To add kōrero awhi or to nominate a Māori Leader who influences and contributes to Māori health and wellbeing click here.
